We love bling and lots of it here at Haute Mimi. So, when we heard about Outer Vision NYC’s latest Queen of Bling customizable, Swarovski-encrusted frames we were floored. Founder Phyllis Lubarsky, has been an optometrist and eyewear expert to celebrities and icons ranging from icons Barbara Streisand to Alec Baldwin for the past twenty years and now she’s back to offer her personalized eye wear services to the modern fashionista.

My trip to Outer Vision left me inspired. Phyllis greeted me in her studio and graciously showed me her collection of beautiful eye-wear in all colors and shapes; from over-sized sunglasses, crystal encrusted aviators, glasses for men, and even office supplies and gifts covered in Swarovski crystal. I felt as if I was in heaven. Phyllis is a kindred spirit who loves to make a statement and she’s definitely not afraid of glamour.

For my customized Queen of Bling sunglasses, I thought up of a beautiful pink elephant, a tongue in cheek kind of motif that’s still very exotic and unique. In a few weeks I returned to the studio to pick up my glasses and I just fell in love! They are gorgeous and I wear them everyday. I have tons of designer shades with logos, but I prefer my Outer Vision glasses over them as they are not as unique and eye-catching. I’ve been stopped everywhere from Henri Bendel to Starbucks with compliments. They have definitely become of of my fashion treasures.
