Yotam Solomon’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection is simply chic. The silhouettes are sexy yet refined making them perfect for work as well as for play.  Solomon named his SS11 collection, “Oil Spill” as he took inspiration from the recent Oil Spill at the Gulf of Mexico.

“This season I have decided to focus on another environmental topic, due to the recent developments involving both an ecological and energy crisis. As an advocate of sustainability it’s important to create using a cradle to cradle process as everything that we produce needs to be reused to maintain our planet’s resources. For my Spring- Summer 2010 collection I created from inspiration around the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill as this is a major event in our decade and even century. Proceeds from this collection’s sales will be given to Defenders of Wildlife and NRDC -Natural Resources Defense Council due to these organizations’ recent work at the Gulf of Mexico. I hope to demonstrate that together we can save wild life, keep our plant evergreen and Eco friendly, while most importantly creating beauty during hard times,” says Solomon.”

You can see the subtle nod to he natural disaster in the color palette as well as as the textures and details. We are going ga-ga for the SS11 shoes by Solomon which are so eye catching, sophisticated and most of all, unique. For more information please click here.
