The beautiful founder and creative director of Modalistas.com, Monica Phromsavanh’s ultimate goal is to empower new designers to venture into the fashion industry and use Modalistas to showcase their talents globally.  Born and raised in Argentina, Monica’s inspiration for fashion comes from her multicultural background. At the age of eighteen, Monica moved to the United States to pursue a career in fashion and settled down in New York City to accomplish her goal as an entrepreneur. With years of fashion and beauty industry experience under her belt, we wanted to get the scoop on everything from her favorite online stores to best kept beauty secrets. Here’s what she had to say:

HM: Describe your style in one word.
MP: Fabulous

HM: Who is you favorite fashion designer?’
MP: Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, She was not only an exceptional designer, she was one of the most powerful and fascinating women entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

HM: What is your dream travel destination?
MP: Thailand and Laos, I would love to see my parents’ roots.

HM: What would you pack if you could only bring one item?
MP: Black eyeliner

HM: What makes you feel glamorous?
MP: Wearing high heels, the higher the heel, the more glamourous I feel.

HM: What is your best-kept beauty secret?
MP: It’s not really a secret, simply a good night’s sleep and taking care of your health. When you feel good, you look good!

HM: What advice would you give to those who are aspiring to make it big in the fashion industry?
MP: Don’t forget who you really are and never try to change just to fit in. Believe in yourself and love what you do because with no passion nothing will come out right.
