For flawless skin and an energetic nature, it’s important to fuel your body with nutritious organic fruit and vegetables. But let’s face it- many of us find the raw food that will keep us healthy bland and boring, and will be more likely to reach for the bar of Hershey’s. At least that was until raw food turned fashionably sexy through the ever-expanding Pure food & Wine company.
Imagine a restaurant, take-out and range of food and skincare that was not only delicious, but also great for you too. Where Victoria Secret models Gisele Bundchen and Karolina Kurkova may pop in any minute for a shake and where all the food is free of junk. That place does exist- in the form of 3 star restaurant Pure Food & Wine and its takeaway store One Lucky Duck.
With a vegan ethos, all the food is created to not only protect the earth, but your body too. Over 60% of food in supermarkets has been scientifically tampered with in some way. This often means nutrients are lost, so we aren’t getting all those essential vitamins, minerals and the enzymes that give us the energy to get through the day in the most positive way. Eating the food in its raw state helps to keep us healthier as it’s packed with enzymes, but can often sound unappealing.
This is why One Lucky Duck founder Sarma Melngailis has worked hard to create a new image for raw food, creating the first haute-dining style of raw food in New York and therefore placing it beside the best restaurants there are. Receiving acclaim from the New York Times and Forbes magazine, the restaurant and takeaway store is the new place to dine for A listers and New Yorkers alike.
Signature dishes include Zucchini and Heirloom Lasagna with Basil Pistachio Pesto, Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce and Pignoli Ricotta, while desserts even come with chocolate. What woman could resist? The surrounding is relaxed, with space to drink wine and cocktails along the courtyard garden when the weather is sunny. Healthy organic foods, a beautiful setting and won’t pile on the pounds? Sounds exactly like our type of restaurant. For more information click here.
